Monday, April 4, 2016: Opening Event

  • Individual arrivals, check into the hotel and sign up at the Conference's Hospitality Desk.
  • Depart the hotel for the opening event.
  • Opening Event, hosted by the Rosh Ha'Ayin/New Orleans Partnership connecting through music and food. Celebrate 20 years of our collective tapestry of communities with world-renowned New Orleans jazz musicians and fantastic culinary treats!
  • Late return to Tel Aviv.

Tuesday, April 5, 2016: Northern Exposure

  • Group tracks to P2G regions spanning across Northern Israel.
  • Each track will include Israeli and overseas participants, and will explore a theme that inspires creativity and sparks motivation for community-building in your own Jewish organizations and Partnerships.
  • Each track will stop en route for a light lunch.
  • For dinner: Enjoy home-cooked food and a personal “welcome” from an Israeli family who will host you for a meal.

Track Options:

Track 1:  THE POWER OF LAUGHTER AND COLLABORATION
Sovev Kinneret /Milwaukee, Tulsa, St. Paul Madison and
Carmiel/Misgav/Pittsburgh

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Early departure for the North.
  • Clowning Around: Visit the Jordan River Village, located on the outskirts of Givat Avni. The Jordan River Village is part of the Serious Fun Network for Camps, founded by actor Paul Newman, for children with life-threatening illnesses.
  • Meet with medical clowns who participated in the P2G exchange program and explore your clowning skills in a workshop.
  • Ready Steady Cook: Participate in an outdoor cooking competition led by local chefs from the Sovev Kinneret region.
  • The Ties that Bind Us: Visit Moona: A Space for Change, a collaborative space sponsored by P2G, enabling Jews and Arabs of the Galilee to achieve technological and innovative entrepreneurship, establishing solid foundations for regional, social and economic breakthrough.
  • Experience Beer tasting from a local boutique brewery supported by the Loan Funds Program.
  • Depart for home hospitality dinner.
  • Late return to Tel Aviv and to the hotel.

Track 2: CULTURAL TREASURES IN THE WESTERN GALILEE
The Western Galilee/ Central Area Consortium/Dallas with Raya Strauss

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Early departure for the North.
  • Investing in the Treasures of The Western Galilee: Greetings and introduction to the day with Raya Strauss, former Jewish Agency P2G Chair and a philanthropist. 
  • Northern Strings that Sing: Visit Keshet Eilon Music Center and Violin Mastercourse in Kibbutz Eilon. Hear how this world-class institution is devoted to training and promoting young violinists from Israel and the world. The P2G Performing Art Series has hosted students and teachers in the partnering communities.
  • Culture Knows No Bounds: Visit the village of Arab El-aramsheh, located partly in Israel and partly in Lebanon, for a lunch of local cuisine and for conversation on the unique reality of the local community.
  • Step by Step: Visit Kibbutz Ga'aton to meet with the dancers of The Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (KCDC) from Israel and around the world. Hear about the cultural renaissance that is taking place in the Galilee, participate in a dance seminar with MASA interns, take a brief tour of the kibbutz and view one of their rehearsals, for insight into the life of a dancer in Israel. Dance Journey students and the KCDC 2 Company have participated in annual P2G Artist in Residency Exchange programs as well as hosted and performed with Ballet Austin.
  • Visit the Galilee Medical Center: A pillar of the Partnership, this hospital is the largest employer in the region and serves approx. 600,000 of its residents. Visit Israel's first—and P2G supported— Underground Emergency Department, learn about The Friendly Room and ongoing P2G medically-focused programs.
  • Depart for home hospitality dinner together with the Western Galilee Partnership's volunteers.
  • Late return to Tel Aviv and to the hotel.

Wednesday, April 6, 2016: Exploring the Soul of Southern Israel

Depart on tracks to the cities and towns in the Negev.

Track Options:

Track 1: STRONG COMMUNITIES NEAR THE BORDER
Ofakim-Merchavim/Greater Metro West

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Depart Tel Aviv by train to Ofakim.
  • Arrive in Ofakim: Welcome & Orientation by the P2G representatives.
  • Drive to Metzudat Patish in Park Ofakim where we will be welcomed by our P2G youth, enjoy the beautiful view from the terrace of these ruins while gaining insight into the current security situation and what it is like to live so close to Israel's border with the Gaza Strip.

OPTION 1

  • Living on the Edge: Participate in a yoga workshop as part of the coping and stress-relief methods P2G has brought to the residents of Ofakim/Merchavim.

OPTION 2

  • Enjoy a short bike ride in the forest.

Both Options

  • Enjoy an ethnic lunch in the home of Ossie, prepared by the P2G women of Nashim Mevashlot who took the plunge, turning their hobby into a catering business.
  • Presentation of the Bomb Squads state of the art robotics which dismantles and defuses explosive devices.
  • Depart for the Path to Peace Project on Moshav Netiv HaAsarah.

Track 2: INVESTING IN THE FUTURE—THE ISRAEL CHILDREN'S ZONE PROJECT
Kiryat Gat-Lachish-Shafir/Chicago

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Depart Tel Aviv.
  • RECESS! Investing in education has never been such fun:
  • Participate in an "active recess” at the Ben Zvi School in Kiryat Gat and gain insight into P2G's impact on the school system.
  • Depart the school for Hineni.
  • Visit the community garden created by the Hineni Group, supported by P2G, a community empowerment organization which helps Israeli youth and families of Ethiopian decent.
  • Divide into 3 groups for hands-on activities (prepare Ethiopian bread- write Ethiopian  writing, Ethiopian dancing or Ethiopian embroidering -  TBC)
  • Drive to the Angles forest.
  • Join the Etgarim Team and participate in activities in the park designed for the local school children, and gain first-hand experience of this special organization.
  • Drive to Moshav Lachish.
  • Lunch at the Arkabi Family.
  • Depart for the Path to Peace Project on Moshav Netiv HaAsarah.

Both Tracks:

  • Overview on Gaza from Moshav Netiv HaAsarah.
  • Gather for a Mosaic activity on the border wall with Gaza, A Path to Peace (Netiv L'Shalom) Project.
  • Come 2Gether at the peace wall with artist Tsamaret Zamir who will lead us in creating a P2G symbol on the Gaza boarder. We'll make a statement for peace by joining together and making a special mosaic on the security wall with a personal prayer.
  • Gathering at the Moadon- Club for a presentation of products from the Arava region.
  • Return to Tel Aviv.
  • Free Evening in Tel Aviv.

Thursday, April 7, 2016: The Power to Imagine

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Check out and depart the hotel for Hadera.
  • The Power of Cultural Exchange in Hadera/Eiron/South East Consortium Partnership
  • A morning of collaboration and creativity, witnessing the inspiring dialog based on our Jewish text in Psalms presenting Art Beyond Boundaries Exhibition accompaniment by Kosher Cuts—Music2Gether original composition.
  • Round Table Jewish Study Session over lunch, learning with P2G beneficiaries and artists focusing on Jewish peoplehood.
  • Return to Tel Aviv.
  • Special Closing Event at the Peres Center for Peace with special guest - former President Shimon Peres - A powerful and meaningful closing event symbolizing our collective!
  • Return to the hotels.
  • Group departure transfers to Ben Gurion Airport.

    Hotel accommodations: The tour price does not include hotel accommodations. Our standard is to provide the best available hotels while considering value. Although the level of the accommodations may differ slightly from hotel to hotel, we are committed to your comfort. Two-bed rooms are reserved in most hotels. Triples are two-bed rooms with a rollaway cot where available and are not recommended when considering the comfort of those in the room. King-size beds are not available in most hotels; what is considered king-size usually consists of two single beds pushed together and made up separately, but with one headboard. Some two-bed rooms may have two twin (not full- or queen-size) beds.

    Baggage: All tour packages / group tours allow one piece of luggage per person and one carry-on bag. Excess luggage will be subject to charge of up to $100 per piece. The Travel Agent and/or Tour Operator shall not be held responsible for any damage to or loss of luggage/personal items. All damage/loss must be reported at time of incident and documented in writing by local authorities for submission to the insurance company. With regard to airline baggage allowance, different carriers have different regulations for business and coach; please check with your individual carrier with regard to permitted number of pieces, weights and dimensions. The tour operator is not responsible for fees levied by any air carrier for the transport of personal belongings of any kind.
