17-Day Discover Turkey and Israel |
|
|
|
Enjoy your tour of bustling
Istanbul, the fifth most populous city in the world, home to approximately
12.5 million people. A city with a pedigree, Istanbul was at different times in
her history the capital city of the Roman, Byzantine, Latin and Ottoman empires.
It now boasts the remains of those societies, from grand mosques, ancient
neighborhoods and a fascinating bazaar to a small but strong Jewish community
that has remained vibrant throughout the centuries. Continue on to Israel, to
see and hear, explore and learn about the land that is home to Jews, Arabs and
Christians, a place of modern traditions and ancient customs.
